There are examples that are specifically ethers, instead, they appear here and there in the examples. An ether function is simply a carbon attached to an oxygen. In the IR, the C-O stretch will show up from 1320-1000, a region which overlaps several other functional groups.
In NMR, the proton on the carbon adjacent to the oxygen shows up from 3.3-4 ppmsimilar to the shift of the -OCHR proton in esters.
